Using the E5 battery powered setting tool

The E5 is our versatile battery-powered tool for setting rivets (2.4 – 5.0mm) in all materials. It is simple to use and easy to set up. This quick guide shows how to set a typical rivet into metal.

1. Check tool battery is powered up.

Ensure the tool battery has at least two indicator battery lights. The E5 comes with a standard Element One rechargeable battery and recharging unit.


2. Ensure the E5 has the correct nosepiece for the size of rivet required for setting.

Choose the nosepiece according to the diameter of the rivet to set (see table).nosepiece table

CAUTION: The use of the wrong nosepiece can damage the tool.

To install a nosepiece :

1. Use the special wrench to unscrew the nosepiece.

2. Remove the nosepiece.

3. Activate the trigger.

4. Press the trigger and screw the nosepiece in.

5. Use the special wrench to tighten the nosepiece.

3. Setting a rivet.

A specialised wrench is supplied with the tool.E5_set-rivet

1. Place the rivet mandrel into the nosepiece.

2. Place the rivet body in the hole of the assembling part.

3. Press trigger until the mandrel breaks.

Mandrel will eject into the collecting container.


Make sure that the mandrel container has enough space to receive the mandrel of the rivet that has been set.

To empty the mandrel container:mandrel collector

1. Turn the mandrel container counter-clockwise. Listen for a ‘click’.

2. Remove the mandrel container and empty it.

3. Replace container back onto tool.

4. Turn the mandrel container clockwise until it ‘clicks’.
