Choosing the right Rivet nut size
A quick and simple guide to selecting the right size rivet nut for your job.

1. Check thread size.
Ensure thread size required is selected. This is listed on the data sheet.
2. Check hole size
Hole size is vital for setting rivet nuts. Too small and the nut won’t fit and too big could cause the rivet nut to fail. Always check the data sheet for minimum and maximum hole size ranges for the chosen rivet nut.
3. Check grip range (material thickness).
The grip range is the thickness of material the rivet nut is going into. Refer to the G value on the data sheet. Note: a rivet nut length that is too short will not allow sufficient deformation at the back and could result in a rivet nut failure.

Also consider…
Also important to consider are material, head type and rivet nut joint strength.
