Choosing the right Rivnut size
A quick and simple guide to selecting the right size rivnut for your job.
1. Check thread size.
Ensure thread size required is selected. This is listed on the data sheet.
2. Check hole size
Hole size is vital for setting rivnuts. Too small and the nut won’t fit and too big could cause the rivnut to fail. Always check the data sheet for minimum and maximum hole size ranges for the chosen rivnut.
3. Check grip range (material thickness).
The grip range is the thickness of material the rivnut is going into. Refer to the G value on the data sheet. Note: a rivnut length that is too short will not allow sufficient deformation at the back and could result in a rivnut failure.
Also consider…
Also important to consider are material, head type and rivnut joint strength.
